Individual Therapy

All individual therapy services are provided by a Board Certified Music Therapist who has successfully met the criteria as set by the Certification Board for Music Therapists, www.cbmt.org. Additionally, the therapist will have specialized training beyond these requirements for the specific service offer ed in the case of Therapeutic Listening® and adapted lessons.

Music Therapy Sessions

Music therapy sessions may include the use of several instruments utilizing a variety of strategies depending upon the client's interests. Clients may not learn to play the instruments proficiently; however individual goals will be set and periodically assessed. Sessions range from 30-60 minutes and are typically once or twice per week depending on the individual's strengths and needs.

Please call our office for more information.

Therapeutic Lessons

Therapeutic lessons focus on non-musical goals, which may be cognitive, physical, or emotional domains. In therapeutic lessons a client will learn musical concepts and how to play an instrument; however, non-musical goals will be emphasized.

Therapeutic Listening®

Therapeutic Listening® is an evidence-based protocol that combines a sound-based intervention with sensory integrative activities to create a comprehensive program that is effective for diverse populations with sensory challenges. Therapeutic Listening® can impact sensory modulation, attention, behavior, postural organization, and speech and language difficulties. Trained therapists learn to use modulated CDs to set up programs for clients in home, schools, and clinics. Listening is a function of the entire brain; when we listen, we listen with the whole body.
